Introduction and Political overview by Richard Lapidus. Foreword by Leo W. Banks. Almost nineteen years after the famous gunfight in Tombstone, Wyatt Earp's youngest brother, Warren, was gunned down in a Willcox, Arizona saloon. Some newspapers reported that the killing was a result of a feud that had existed between the Earps and the cowboys in the early eighties. Others suggested that Warren Earp was a troublemaker and had provoked the fight. Many inconsistencies and unanswered questions have defied explanation for years. This is an attempt to set the record straight as the author starts from Warren's birth, his life, events leading up to his killing, and the aftermath following his death. Fine bright copy in bright dust jacket.
