First edition. 8vo. Pictorial tan cloth, xvii [blank, 381 pp., preface, linguistic note, illustrated, portraits, map, facsimilies, footnotes, bibliography, index. This book is the story of "THE PEOPLE", the spartans of the prairies, who at one time fought and defeated the Utes, Pawnees, Osages, Tonkawas, Apaches, and Navahos. They ruled an area that included Texas, Oklahoma, portions of New Mexico, Colorado, and Kansas, and effectively made living unsafe for white settlers. An excellent account and history of the Comanches. Corners lightly bumped, some light staining to front and rear pastedowns (from adhesive during binding), and previous owners name and address in top corner of front free endpaper.
