First edition. 8vo. 9" x 6" printed wrappers, 32 pp., frontispiece is a double page map with color outlining, tables. The wrappers are printed on each panel. Laid-in is a notice on State Capital Bank of Concord, New Hampshire stationery and dated June 25, 1870, that Jay Cooke & Company says this road is now nearly complete and they recommend its securities as a perfectly safe as well as a profitable investment. Nearly all existing Iowa rail lines run east to west. This one is north to south and "nearly complete," (62 0f the 235 miles are ready, work is "being vigorously pushed") and they need more money and "have no reason to doubt that the entire line will be finished this year." Orders for available bonds will be delivered free of charge. A few pages un-cut and un-opened else a near fine copy.
