Publication: Naylor Printing Company, 1932, San Antonio
First edition. 8vo. Signed by the author on the dedication page. Pictorial cloth, [drawing by Ben Carlton Mead], decorated endpapers by Ben Carlton Mead, vii [5], 269 pp., foreword, illustrated, index. Foreword by Joe O. Naylor. Taken from material from the author's newspaper column, we find articles on cowboys, cattlemen, outlaws and lawmen, the Apaches, Adobe Walls, horse stories, Indian troubles, Civil War, cattle rustlers, old time religious meeting, rattlesnakes, etc. Six Guns 2400 says "A collection of short articles, among which are tales about Joel Fowler, John Wesley Hardin, and Ben Thompson." Herd 2522 says "These stories, some now revised and altered, appeared in the 'Texas Trail' column of the SAN ANTONIO LIGHT between the years 1927 and 1931." Covers are bright with minor wear to the lower corners, else a near fine bright copy that lacks the elusive dust jacket.
