First Trade edition. 8vo. Original tan suede covers, titles stamped in brown on the spine, xv [blank], 275 pp., frontispiece, preface, illustrated mostly from photographs, portraits, maps, notes, bibliography, index. BTB 55 says: "“The best account of the famous camel experiment in Texas, this volume is also a successful blend of the numerous official records of the experiment with the memoirs and anecdotes of the people involved.” This edition does not have the words "July, 1932" on verso of the title page. Former owner's neat bookplate on the front pastedown sheet else a fine bright copy in the elusive dust jacket with trivial wear to the corners and head of spine. An exceptional copy of a book seldom offered with the dust jacket.
