First edition. 8vo. Tan cloth with titles printed in blue on front cover and spine, 209 pp., frontispiece, foreword, acknowledgments, illustrated, numerous photographs, log marks, folding map in color, epilogue, appendix. A history of steamboating days on Lake Coeur d'Alene. Steamboats were used more extensively on Lake Coeur d'Alene than on any lake, salt or fresh, west of the Great Lakes. They were a source of commerce as they brought ore from gold, silver, and lead mines, lumber from the forests, fish from the rivers, carried mail and Sears, Roebuck parcels, carried cattle, wheat, potatoes, and other produce. They also were used for pleasure trips and holidays when they were transformed into vessels of festivity. An interesting and well-written history. Fine, bright, tight copy in price-clipped dust jacket with one small closed tear to foot of front panel and light wear to the spine ends.
