The true 1st printing of the First edition with "1926" on the title page and only 3 lines on the copyright page, and a glaring typographical error at the bottom of page 44, with 'hou gt' in place of 'thought.' A Merrill Aristocrat of the Cow Country. Winner of the John H. Newbery Medal for 1927 for best in children's literature. Near fine, bright copy in the original dust jacket complete with the $2.50 price mark at top of front flap fold. Dust jacket is lightly rubbed with a small portion at the head of spine restored by a master paper conservationist. An exceptional copy.
