The true 1st printing of the First edition with "1926" on the title page and only 3 lines on the copyright page, and a glaring typographical error at the bottom of page 44, with 'hou gt' in place of 'thought.' A Merrill Aristocrat of the Cow Country. Winner of the John H. Newbery Medal for 1927 for best in children's literature. Near fine, bright copy in the original dust jacket complete with the $2.50 price mark at top of front flap fold. Former owner's inked gift inscription at top of front free fly leaf, else a fine, bright, internally clean copy in dust jacket that has only a hint of wear to the head of spine. This is an exceptional copy! There may be a copy as good as this one, but none better!
