Stereoview photograph of Sitting and one of his wives. Images: 2.75" x 3.25", each image. Mount: 7" x 3.5", standard stereoview. Sitting Bull sits at an angle to the camera, with a tipi and trees in the background, and one of his wives seated at his side. Sitting Bull is in a light colored shirt and a dark blanket around the lower part of his body. His hair is braided and down across his chest. He holds a long pipe across his lap, with a beaded bag across the blanket. His wife is in a dark dress with braided hair across the front, and is seated lower than Sitting Bull. A very clear, bright image! This stereo view is from a set entitled Black Hills Stereographic Views, with part of a general description of the set on the verso. Previous owner has written Pine Ridge at top edge. Printed below the left side image is the following: "No. 6 Sitting Bull and his Number Two." Nice image in exceptionally clean, clear condition. Tiny tack-hole between the two images, not effecting either, else near Fine.
