First edition. Former owner's bookplate on front fly leaf, else a fine, bright copy in dust jacket with light professional restoration to the spine ends, corners, and extremities. Illustrations by James Montgomery Flagg. A young woman boards a transatlantic ocean liner under an assumed name and it soon becomes clear that she is fearful of being pursued. It seems the girl has in her possession a rare antique jewel that belonged to a famous collection and now has been stolen. Is she guilty of theft or is there some other explanation?
