First edition. Tall & slender 10 3/4" x 4 3/4" three ring green cloth binder with titles stamped in gilt on the front cover, 9 leaves on thick card stock. With 171 mounted twine, cord, rope, cotton tape, welt cords, upholstery and mattress twines, jute rope samples, 169 carefully labeled, and either sewn, or stapled to the card stock, all clearly labeled except for two larger samples mounted on verso of final leaf. An Index leaf is provided affixed to the inside of the front cover. First edition of this exceedingly scarce salesman sample catalogue issued by the famed Graham Paper Co., the oldest West of the Mississippi River. These twine & cordage samples provide key physical artifacts of binding materials which facilitated commerce in the 1930's. These include Welt Cords, Woven Cotton Braid, and Woven Cotton Tape, for bookbinding and sewing; Machine sewing twine; Clothes lines, Mexican twines & ropes to be woven for cattle and horse roping lariats, bailing twine, upholstery and mattress twines for reinforcing seats, mattresses, furnishings, and much more. This is a remarkable booklet with a bit of dust soiling and normal usage in very good condition.
