Publication: Warner Brothers, 1958, Burbank, California

Vintage reference photograph of Angie Dickinson from the classic 1959 Western film, Rio Bravo. The film starred Angie Dickinson, John Wayne, Dean Martin, and Ricky Nelson, with Howard Hawks as director and Leigh Brackett and Jules Furthman as screen writers.

The film was shot on location in Arizona. Texas Sheriff John Chance arrests Joe Burdette for murder. Joe’s powerful and wealthy brother, Nathan, gathers hired guns and surrounds the town, determined to free him. Subsequently, Sheriff Chance must fend off the gang with the help of a young gunfighter, a disabled man, and the town drunk. Alongside the action, Sheriff Chance develops a romantic relationship with Feathers (played by Angie Dickinson), a sharp-witted gambler. One of the most entertaining Western films ever made from the standpoint of cinematography, dialogue, story, economy, direction, and acting.

The basis for the film is the book "Rio Bravo" written by Leigh Brackett and published as a paperback original in 1959 by Bantam Books. Even light fading to the recto with a tide mark that is not visible on the recto, else a near fine photograph.
