Other works by CHARLES A. SIRINGO

Publication: Houghton Mifflin, 1927, Boston

First edition. 8vo. Inscribed in ink on the front free fly leaf: "To Miss Catherine Kingman, sister of my dear friend Spencer Kingman, with good wishes of the author. Chas. A. Siringo, Long Beach, Calif., May 27th, 1927." On the half title page is a photograph of Siringo taken after the writer had given him a lift in a car after meeting him at a store. In the photograph he is sitting in a lawn chair, resting. Both the photograph and the write-up were dated 7/17/27. Cloth, xiv, [2], 276 pp., preface, introduction, illustrated. In this issue none of the author's experiences with the Pinkerton Agency have been deleted and no material on bad men has been substituted. Only a few copies of the first edition got out; hence its scarcity. This issue is considered to be very scarce today. Former owner's neat bookplate on the verso of the half title page, else a fine, bright, and well-cared-for copy with the entire rear panel and attached flap along with the front lap of the original dust jacket laid-in. It has been a long time since we have seen or handled as nice a copy of this title and more especially so in the true first edition.
