Full-Page Heliotypes with protective tissues collated complete. Atlas not present. Classic survey and report associated with Department Of The Interior, U.S. Geographical And Geological Survey Of The Rocky Mountain Region, under the direction of J. W. Powell. Major geological work on Utah by the noted geologist, Clarence Dutton, that was published two years prior to his more famous work 'The Tertiary History of the Grand Canon.' This is the rarer of the two monographs. Clarence E. Dutton (1841-1912) was head of the division of volcanic geology for the U.S. Geological Survey and carried out geological investigations in the Grand Canyon and on the plateaus of Utah. Light wear to the spine ends and corners, interior clean and bright, else a very good copy.
