First Edition. Disbound. Pages 128-198. Four consecutive reports, disbound from the Annual Report Of The Commissioner Of Indian Affairs To The Secretary Of The Interior For The Year 1872. Capt. Henry E. Alvord's report is Appendix E and is comprised of pages 128-148, and addresses current issues with western Indian Territory tribes, especially hostilities with the Kiowa and Comanche tribes. Appendix F & G are the reports of Brig. Gen. O. O. Howard addressing his tour of Arizona and New Mexico, reporting current circumstances with all regional tribes, with much emphasis on relations and problems with the various Apache groups. Much reference to Howard's interaction with Gen. Crook. Appendix I is a short 4 page report by Commissioner Daniel H. Ross regarding the Indian Peace Commission activities with various tribes in the Indian Territory, with much regarding the Apaches and Kiowas.
