Sept. 24, 1893. / from / Abby Johnson Woodman." 7 1/4" x 5" pictorial brown cloth, titles stamped in gilt on the spine, bluish/green front and rear endpapers, 212 pp. (lacks the 16 pp. of publisher's advertisements included in the first edition of 1889), frontispiece (double page map), introductory note, illustrated, plates. Written as a journal, the author gives much information about her travels in Alaska before the Gold Rush of 1897. Chapters on "Mount Shasta and the Pass of Siskiyou", "Mount Hood, Mount Tacoma, and Puget Sound", "Victoria and Nanaimo, B. C., to Fort Tongas, Alaska", "From Dixon's Entrance to Juneau", "Sitka, Juneau and Douglas Island", "Return to Tacoma." Light wear to the spine ends and corners else a very good copy.
