Publication: Doubleday, Doran & Company, Inc, 1938, New York

First edition. Bright red cloth, titles stamped in black on the spine, [10], 265 pp., red top edges. Bookseller's stamp in the center of the front free fly leaf else a fine, bright copy in dust jacket with light professional restoration to the spine ends and corners. It appears the restoration is largely for the removal of transparent cellophane tape from the spine and corners. Basis for the 1948 film noir "Blonde Ice," directed by B-movie great Jack Bernard and starring Robert Paige and Leslie Brooks. "Blonde Ice" serves up Leslie Brooks as Claire, a woman who murders her husband on the evening of her wedding day for his insurance money, then maintains a complicated alibi as she begins an affair with another man." An exceptional copy of a very scarce book.
