With a preface in tribute to the oldtimers by John Nance Garner, then Vice President of the U.S. Excellent regional oral history of Southwest Texas collected by Fenley, whose grandfather came to Sabinal Canyon in 1852. Almost half of the oral histories are by Texas pioneer woman, many of whom had their own cattle, fought Indians, conducted their own business, etc. Wonderful source. Herd 799 says "True stories of real cattlemen. Privately printed in a small edition and now becoming scarce." Fine, bright, square copy in dust jacket with light wear to the spine ends and two tiny chip to top edge of rear panel.
