Publication: Privately Printed, 1971, London, Ontario, Canada
First Editions(?). 3 Volumes. Printed Wrappers. i-xix, 148pp.; and I-xvi, 168pp.+32pp.; and i-viii, 204pp.. Illustrated with hundreds of drawings and black & white photographs. A detailed and thorough study of all forms of silver used in the early trade with North American Indians. This work is "an attempt to present a comprehensive picture of one commodity used in the Fur Trade Era--Silver." While the first 2 volumes show the same 1971 printing date as the first edition, these 2 volumes are perfect-bound, while the first printings in 1971 were spiral-bound. Since the Volume III is issued later, in 1973, and it is perfect-bound, we believe this perfect-bound set to be comprised of reprints of Volume I and Volume II, and the first printing of Volume III. A very scarce set in near fine condition.
