Red cloth, brand on front cover, titles printed in gilt on the front cover and spine, tan front and rear endpapers, [2], vii [5], 209 pp., errata slip laid-in, preface, acknowledgements, introduction, frontispiece (portrait), illustrated mostly from photographs, portraits, epilogue, double column.

This is a biography of the author's father, John K. Madsen, a sheep breeder from Sanpete County, Utah. The book won first prize at the Utah State Institute Writing Contest for Biography in 1976. In the critique for that award the judge wrote, "This is not only a story of a man and his family -- it is also to some extent a history of Mt. Pleasant and the sheep industry of Utah, with both of which the main character was intimately connected."

Former owner's inked name and address at top of the title page, minor wear to the tips of corners else a near fine tight copy in dust jacket with light wear to the spine ends, corners and extremities.
