First edition. Original blue cloth with red lettering on the spine, xix [3], 351 [1] pp., frontis., [portrait], preface, maps, illustrated, chronology. A wealth of information regarding the Sioux, much on Sitting Bull, Sioux Indian history, tribal migrations, much on Sioux wars with white troops and tribal enemies, the Reynolds Battle at Powder River, March 17, 1876, the Custer fight, the Fetterman fight, notes on individual Sioux warriors and chiefs, and much more. Some sunning to cloth along top and bottom edges and very slight bumps to corners, else a clean, tight copy. The elusive dust jacket is sunned on the spine, has a few minor chips to edges and spine ends, and has some insect damage to a few spots on fore-edge. In all, very good.
