Publication: Privately printed, nd circa 1890, NP

First edition. 5" x 3" bright colorful trade card. The front of the card offers a unique lithograph of the daring investigative journalist Nelly Bly standing on a fly while holding her bags and an umbrella. Elizabeth Cochran Seaman, known by her pen name Nellie Bly, was an American journalist. She was also a writer, industrialist, inventor, and a charity worker who was widely known for her record-breaking trip around the world in 72 days. She was a pioneer in her field, as well as a player in the early feminist and Suffrage movements, and she launched a new kind of investigative journalism. This card is one of a series of six about Bly. Approximately 1/2" scuff mark on the back of the card else very good.
