First edition. 8vo. Limited to 750 copies, signed by the author and numbered. This copy 14. Additionally inscribed "To Major Maurice G. Fulton: - Accept my 'small offering' with best of all good wishes. Very sincerely yours, Miguel A. Otero, Santa Fe, N. M., August 30th, 1935." At the time of this presentation Fulton was a professor of English at New Mexico Military Institute at Roswell, New Mexico and a Major in the New Mexico National Guard. Maurice G. Fulton was interested in the history of southern New Mexico and was a highly respected historian and author. Cloth, (16), 293 pp., frontispiece. (portrait of Miguel Antonio Otero), illustrated, plates, portraits, index. Illustrated by Will Schuster. Six Guns 1659 says "In the trade edition the illustrations are omitted." Written by a former governor of New Mexico about personal experiences and incidents in the early development of Kansas, Colorado, and New Mexico. Much information about Buffalo Bill, Uncle Dick Wooten, Clay Allison, Dave Rudabaugh, Billy the Kid, Wild Bill Hickok, Pat Garrett and many others. Covers lightly soiled, else a very good copy of the limited edition.
