A significant firsthand historical account, chronicling 20 years (1871-1890) of frontier life, lawlessness, and development in and around Caldwell, Kansas, detailing encounters with Native Americans, outlaws, railroad growth, etc. Includes incidents like the murder of Pat Hennessey, the hanging of Tom Smith, and the Talbot Raid. Very good, tight copy of a rare book.
