First edition. 9 1/4" x 6 3/4" in colorful pictorial wrapper.  pp including wrappers. Illustrations. The story of John Jacob's two sons, Titus and Tam, who go out riding on the wild prairies of Nebraska and narrowly avoid the clutches of a band of wild Indians (Cheyenne or Sioux). Beautifully illustrated with five color illustrations of various Indians along with black and white sketches on 6 of the pages. Wrappers and page edges professionally reinforced and repaired as wrappers were loose and with closed tears to edges of all pages as well as 2" x 2" chip to rear wrapper. Light soiling throughout. Previous owner's name written in pencil at top of front wrapper and with a gift inscription written in pen on rear wrapper.
