An excellent, informative report by A. Cumming, Superintendent of Indian Affairs. "Indians On The Upper Missouri". He reports on the various tribes he encountered in his travels up the Missouri River in the Summer of 1855. It was an expedition intended to visit the country of the Blackfeet Indians, "for the purpose of holding a council with the Blackfeet Indians, and other tribes residing near the headwaters of the Missouri." An interesting report.
