Publication: Thomas Allen, Printer, 1839, Washington
First edition. 8vo. Binder, 6 pp. Executive House of Representatives Document No. 71, 25th Congress, 3d Session, 1839.. Interesting record of correspondence between Louisiana, a part of the United States, and Washington in regard to the "invasion" of Louisiana by a large group of armed Texians. The "invasion" was by a group of 75-100 armed men from Texas who were in pursuit of Caddo Indians. They were intent on disarming the Caddoes, who they claimed were committing depredations in Texas, with arms provided by their U.S. agent. Scarce record of an interesting event in the history of the Republic of Texas. Fine copy housed in quarter cloth and boards binder with titles stamped in silver on the front cover.
