A scarce, little known book giving the experiences of two old South Texas cowmen, including nine trips up the trail, citing many vivid experiences of authentic cowboy life.

The book offers firsthand accounts of life on ranches and cattle drives from the 1870s through the 1890s, describing the demanding work of rounding up cattle, branding calves, breaking horses, and driving large herds over hundreds of miles along famous cattle trails to railheads in Kansas. They vividly portray the hardships of trail life, including dangerous river crossings, violent storms, stampedes, cattle rustlers, harsh weather, and the physical endurance required of cowboys. Alongside these challenges, the memoir recounts the camaraderie among trail crews, campfire traditions, and the practical skills that defined cowboy life.
