His book gives an interesting account of the hostile desert southwest and remains one of the best on the Apache. According to Field #387: "The Apache was more closely approached and studied by him during his twenty years of border life, than by any other writer." Good-Very Good. Some soiling to cloth. Moderate wear to corners, edges, and spine ends. Inner front hinge cracked, but not loose. Highly recommended.
