Publication: A Roman & Co, 1868, San Francisco

First edition. Cloth, 322 pp. Cremony served as interpreter to Bartlett during the boundary survey. His book gives an interesting account of the hostile desert southwest and remains one of the best on the Apache. According to Field #387: "The Apache was more closely approached and studied by him during his twenty years of border life, than by any other writer." "A cavalry officer's adventures in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas told with dash and a fine sense of humor."--Colton Storm. An excellent work filled with thrilling incidents and interesting facts. Good-Very Good. Some soiling to cloth. Moderate wear to corners, edges, and spine ends. Inner front hinge cracked, but not loose. Highly recommended.
