First edition. A gift inscription and a presentation copy signed “ML & RHL.” on the front free fly leaf (I suspect that Katharine Mount was married to Mr. Lawrence.). Fine in price-clipped and lightly rubbed dust jacket with light wear to the spine ends and corners and a minor nick to the bottom edge of the rear cover. A bibliomystery that appears to be unique in our experience. The story unfolds with a bizarre murder in a secluded castle on the Yorkshire moors and evolves into a tale of sexual aberration, sadism and lesbianism, and the frightening concept of erotic books bound in human skin.
