Half Plate, 4 1/8" x 5 1/4" image in a 6 3/4" x 8" frame. The photographer is unidentified. The original frame with a brass mat. Image is of four men seated at a table, playing cards, with a fifth man standing over the table and looking down on the players. An ambrotype is an early type of photographic reproduction by essentially producing a positive picture by backing a glass negative with black paper or paint.
