First edition thus. 8vo. Limited to 1000 copies of which this is copy 154. Actually the second printing after the Anson Jones Press edition published in 1937. Inscribed by the author on the front free fly leaf. Decorated cloth, 237 [3] pp., frontispiece, foreword, introduction, illustrated, appendix. Much on ranching, gunmen, Indians, Indian raids, etc. Also the Packsaddle Mountain Fight, South Llano Indian Skirmish, the killing of James H. Sewell and James Bradbury Sr., Big Outlaw Roundup of 77, etc. Jeff Dykes, a noted authority on frontier history, said, "one of the best Texas county histories." Fine bright copy in dust jacket with small chips to the spine ends and with small nicks, chips, and small closed tears to the extremities. In either edition, this is an important and scarce book.
