Publication: The Congressional Globe Office, 1850, Washington
First Edition. Self-Wrappers. 8pp. Speech was delivered in the House of Representatives, Friday, August 2, 1850. An interesting speech that addresses concerns about the rights of Delegates from Territories to introduce legislation, as opposed to the rights of those that represent States, but the majority of it speaks to the concerns about the relocation of eastern Indian tribes, the westward expansion of civilization, the impact that these factors have on the attitudes reflected in these tribes, as well as western tribes that are increasingly expected to relocate, and shares the concern that if these issues aren't addressed, "you must very soon suffer the consequences of a bloody and remorseless Indian war." Some minor edgewear to this fragile work. Uncut. Very Good.
