If The Range Could Talk

J. EVETTS HALEY

Other works by J. EVETTS HALEY

Publication: The Nita Stewart Haley Memorial Library, 1976, Midland,Texas

First edition. 4to. Limited to 250 certified copies of which this is number 63, issued July 5, 1976. Signed by J. Evetts Haley. Three audio cassettes narrated by Haley encased in a padded notebook folder with his image on the front cover and titles on the front cover and spine.

Told by Mr. Haley, these are authentic stories about cowboys, cowmen and their wives, peace officers, windmillers, cow-camp cooks and others. Most of these stories and historical incidents have never been published and it's unlikely that they ever will. The title is tied to a tribute to Haley by John Wayne, who remarked: "If the range could talk, the tales it could tell about the great Southwest would be fabulous indeed. And if the range did talk, chances are that the first thing it would say would be 'Get Evetts Haley, he's the one to tell my story.'"

The tapes appear to be in excellent condition and to our knowledge appear to have never been played. Included with this purchase are three CD discs that reproduce the content of the six audio tapes. Fine condition. Great listening enjoyment for the range and cattle collector.
