Publication: 1915,

First edition. Brick-colored Cloth with Red Leather Spine, with Title and Author in Gilt., 400pp., num. illus. This very scarce work is generally thought to have been printed in Yankton, South Dakota in 1914 or 1915. This copy has a 1" x 1" label affixed to lower corner of rear pastedown which reads: E.B. McIntyre, Book Bindery, Yankton, South Dakota. An interesting compilation of narratives, this obscure work presents a history of early events in the Dakota Territory with much on early exploration, Native Indians, and the fur trade. A fine copy. This is the first copy we have seen with an original, gilt-stamped leather spine. Presentation binding??
