The author describes her experiences growing up in a frontier wilderness after her parents left California to homestead in Alaska during the 1960s. Fine, bright copy in dust jacket, lightly sunned on the spine and with a closed tear to the top edges of the front and rear covers. Really a well-done tale of a ten-year-old girl and her family trying to survive in their first winter in an abandoned cabin in wintery Alaska.
