Publication: The Pullman Company, n d 1959, N P Chicago

First edition. 8vo. 8" X 9" color wrappers, folds to 4" x 9". 23 [1] pp. [including covers}, all diagrams throughout the booklet are in color and describe the many room designs to accommodate Pullman passengers.

An uncommon brochure issued after George W. Bohannon became President of the company in 1958 to head-off the decline in passenger boardings through the 1950s as he aimed to increase passenger revenue. One of his more innovative ideas was the development of the "Slumbercoach" which was manufactured by The Budd Company. This coach was built originally for the Burlington Railroad as trainsets that replaced the original articulated Denver Zephyr trainsets. Orders were received for the innovative cars from both the Burlington and New York Central, but even the well-thought-out marketing efforts as featured in this booklet failed to stem the trend to air travel.

Vertical center crease and covers lightly used else a very good tight copy.
