Each chapter presents a vignette of 19th-century Plains life as experienced by the author, encompassing accounts of prominent Indians, horse thieves and other vigilantes, frontier printers, government officials, and Dakota prison inmates. Neat, tape repairs to 2 pages and some minor splitting to inner-hinges, else very good. Scarce.
