Stated in the Introduction : "I spent twelve years of my life as a Texas cowboy, four years as a Texas Ranger, seventeen months was spent with Buffalo Bill's Wild West Shows, and seven months was spent with Miller Brothers 101 Ranch." Payne was born in Texas in 1868 and started working for pay at the age of 12 and became a cowboy at the age of 16. Although Ramon Adams # 1768 lists this item as "scarce" this is the first copy we have located in more than 65 years. Light wear to covers else a tight and clean copy housed in a clamshell case.
