Haynes, who was the manager of Yellowstone Park Lodge and Camps Company, and the owner of Haynes Picture Shops, with her husband Jack Ellis Haynes, on a tipped in half title page that is tipped in after the Table of Contents. Two-tone cloth, light blue front and rear endpapers, xi [1], 406 pp. + viii, foreword and acknowledgment, illustrated, map, appendix, index. Profusely illustrated with wonderful old photographs. An account of the travels and experiences of F. Jay Haynes as he followed the frontier as a photographer for the Union Pacific Railroad and the newly established Yellowstone Park. He traveled and took over 25,000 photographs of the Dakota and Montana territories. Six Guns 2210 says "Has some mention of Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok." A total of 244 photographs are presented here and they are truly the highlight of the fine work. Fine, bright copy in dust jacket with minor wear to the head of spine.
