Publication: Golden Saga Publishers, 1938, Oklahoma City

First Edition. Cloth, 323pp. Illustrated with 21 plates, many from old photographs. 13 Appendices. An important account of the Battle of the Washita and the efforts of the military, under the leadership of General Philip Sheridan, to defeat the hostile Cheyennes, Comanches, and Kiowa Indians. The author's work is critical of Custer and is considered to be an important counter-balance to the many works that are supportive of Custer's actions. Signed notation neatly written in margin of 1 page by E. A. Brininstool. A fine copy in pictorial dust jacket. Dust jacket some light rubbing and edgewear, with a 2" diagonal closed-tear to upper edge of front panel.
