Originally published in 1867, this edition has a new 26-page introduction by Savage and Lazalier. Consists of letters Taylor wrote for the Tribune in June and July of 1866 while touring the Colorado Territory on horseback with William Holbrook Beard, a popular American painter, and William Newton Byers, editor of the Rocky Mountain News. Fine bright copy in dust jacket.
