The first biography of General James W. Williams, 1833-1907. His military careers spanned both the Civil War and the Indian Wars of the West. Includes material on his activities with the Regular Army's 8th Cavalry Regiment in Arizona and New Mexico. He was stationed at Fort Whipple, Arizona Territory, and Fort Selden and Fort Bayard in New Mexico Territory.
