Publication: Nebraska History Magazine, 1929, Lincoln

First edition. 8vo. Story appears in Nebraska History Magazine Extra Issue Printed December, 1929. Pictorial wrappers, 78 pp., illustrated from photographs, folded map. Inked inscription at top of front cover "To Frederic F. Van de Water, Compliments of E. A. Brininstool." Van de Water was a critic of Custer and was the author of "Glory-Hunter, A Life of General Custer." Brininstool's article appears on pages 4 to 42. Under paragraph heading "Death of the Great Chief," the publisher dropped the last line of text which has been added in ink by Brininstool :"line dropped, Greatest Indian that ever wore a moccasin." An uncommon item, missed by O'Keefe. Brininstool later wrote " Crazy Horse, the Invincible Ogalalla Sioux Chief" in 1949. Very good tight and internally clean item.
