This book was originally published in various installments in THE AMERICAN HEREFORD JOURNAL. Much on cattle breeds, early cattle trails, the advent of barbed wire, the Chisholm trail, the buffalo, Charles Goodnight, the Longhorn cattle, etc. The author was a native Texan and provides a great deal of insight to the development of cattle breeds in Texas. An interesting cattle book written by a man whose reputation for honesty and wisdom preceded him within his community. Herd 618 says "Scarce." A few minor rubs to the cloth with interior bright and tight, else a near fine copy. A sharp copy.
