First movie edition with the U.S. version of the British made film's title on the front cover, but Lieber's original title on the spine and title page. In reviewing CONJURE WIFE in 1952, Anthony Boucher called it "the definitive novelistic treatment of witchcraft." Scripted by Charles Beaumont and Richard Matheson, the film starred Janet Blair, Peter Wyngarde, and Margaret Johnston, and is something of a cult favorite among terror-film enthusiasts. Very good in pictorial art of Wyngarde carrying Janet Blair's limp body in a grave yard. Also a review copy of the 1977 Ace paperback, titled CONJURE WIFE. Fine and unread in a black diecut cover revealing a part of the painted faux cover underneath and with the review slip laid-in. Damon Knight called Lieber's novel, "easily the most frightening and the most thoroughly convincing of all modern horror stories." The two paperbacks:
