Publication: Post Printing and Publishing Company, 1899, Denver
First edition with a stated second edition cover wrapper. Pictorial wrappers, inside front cover and inside and outside rear cover advertisements, 106 [6] pp., index. Adams was a veteran of the Civil War and a telegrapher to the government, while stationed at Vancouver during WW I. He is best known as one of the early newspaper men of Denver, working on the staff of the Denver Post, the Denver Times, and The Rocky Mountain News, plus being featured in Puck, Judge, and Life magazines. OCLC lists only four copies of which three retain the second edition cover.
This is only the fourth copy of this book that we have seen or have known about. In our experience the only difference between the two editions are the words "Second Edition" at the top of the front cover. Covers lightly soiled, faint remnants of a small old water stain to bottom of front and rear cover panels else a good tight copy. A rare Merrill Aristocrat of the Cow Country. Housed in a clamshell case
