BELDEN, GEORGE P. [EDITED BY GEN JAMES S. BRISBIN, U.S.A.]

Other works by BELDEN, GEORGE P.

Publication: C F Vent, 1871, Cincinnati and New York

First edition. 8vo. Bright blue cloth with Indian on front and rear cover in gilt and titles in gilt on the spine, iv - 5 - 513 pp., publisher's preface, frontispiece, illustrated, plates. This is about as nice a copy of this title as one could hope to obtain. In Wm. F. Cody autobiography he makes reference of meeting Belden and having a shooting contest in which Cody won at 200 yards and Belden won at 100 yards. Book Lovers Southwest says on page 86 that of all the captivity books, this is one of the best, but by his own account Belden was never a captive. An informative account of life living among Indians for many years. Trivial wear to the spine ends and corners else a near fine bright copy.
