Original 4 1/4" x 7" full morocco album with elaborate decorations in silver and black and all edges gilt. Hardcover. 106 pages of handwritten entries, some a few lines and many full-page, beginning with Lida's signature, dated December 25, 1879. The album contains 8 full-color lithographed plates and 7 black-and-white plates of American views: Mount Washington; Scene in Upper California; The Coal Region near Mauch Chunk, Pa.; Buffalo Hunting on the Prairie; Residence of Washington Irving on the Hudson; In the White Mountains; Camp in the Black Hills; Forsyth Park on the Savannah; etc. Most of the entries are dated at Philadelphia and at Bellefontaine, Ohio. Besides Richie, other surnames in the album include: McBurney, Wylie, Keys, McClunkin, Stewart, Guthrie, Stadler, Cash, Alexander, Garden, Garver, Crosby, Stevenson, Hatton, Gill, Boehm, Snodgrass, Ewing, Dunlap, et al. Spine ends chipped, inner hinges cracked and holding. Very Good.
