This volume is written by a physician, drugstore owner and newspaperman who settled in Trinidad in 1867, not long after its founding. This guidebook contains sections on the historical founding of Las Animas County, the resources, atmosphere, natural scenery, manufacturing firms, livestock opportunities, agriculture, churches, condition of the roads, public schools, etc. Herd 255 says "Rare," with much on the cattle industry.
